Ceala's writer is among the Bahians awarded in the Brazilian national literary contest Arte como Respiro

With the theme “Post-pandemic life in prose and poetry”, the event promoted through an emergency notice to support literature is the 5th in the Itaú Cultural's Arte Como Respiro series.

The finalists' works were screened for twelve analyzes of thematic adequacy and literary quality by the Evaluation Committee.

In this edition 200 projects were selected by authors from 24 states, with different social, educational, ethnic and gender profiles, 175 in the Written Category (prose or poetry) and 25 in the Spoken Poetry Category.

The final result was published on the morning of June 9 and the following seven Bahians (in alphabetical order) were awarded among 12,982 contestants:

The states of São Paulo (30.29%), Rio de Janeiro (17.14%) and Minas Gerais (7.43%) had the largest number of selected, highlighted the editorial staff of the PublishNews Portal.

"This type of initiative stimulates beautiful letters and new national aesthetic trends, at a time especially difficult for literary practice", highlighted Rilton Primo, Ceala's editor and writer selected.
